Wakaro
Let's celebrate a true cornerstone of our Roko 20 Academy family! Everyone knows her as Wakaro, our longest-serving staff member since February 2014.
For years, she passionately led our kitchen, ensuring every student and staff member was well-fed and ready to take on the day. Her cooking was legendary!
We're incredibly grateful that she's now bringing her same dedication and motherly approach to the dormitory. Her loyalty, trustworthiness, and honesty are qualities we deeply respect.
Thank you, Wakaro, for everything you do! We congratulate you on your incredible service.
Josphine
Today, we want to take a moment to truly celebrate an incredible pillar of the Roko 20 Academy family: **Teacher Josephine!**
She stands out not just for her exceptional teaching, but for her unwavering commitment. Tr. Josephine has been with us for a remarkable **10 years**, making her our longest-serving teacher. In a *school* where teachers often come and go, her loyalty and steadfast dedication to our pupils and the academy have been truly invaluable.
We are so proud to have her currently serving as our Deputy Headteacher, a role she fulfills with the same passion and excellence she has shown for a decade.
Thank you, Tr. Josephine, for your incredible service, your loyalty, and for shaping countless young lives at Roko 20. We are profoundly grateful for you.
Martha Muthoni
At 100 years old, still carrying the profound responsibility of caring for grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Martha Muthoni’s choice to share her harvest is nothing short of extraordinary. It is a powerful reminder that generosity isn’t about how much abundance we have, but the size of our hearts.
A Legacy of True Community Spirit
Selflessness Across Generations: She isn’t just nurturing her own bloodline; she is actively choosing to feed and support the wider community.
The Power of the Soil: For her to labor through a season, reap a harvest, and immediately think of the children at Roko is a deeply moving act of love.
A Living Lesson: Her life and actions teach the children a lesson in kindness, resilience, and community solidarity that no textbook ever could.
"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
It is grassroots champions like Shosho Martha who truly form the backbone of community-led initiatives. Her seasonal donations are a blessing of love, energy, and hope.

From Soil to School Bowls
Today was harvest day at school! We gathered 27kg of fresh sweet potatoes, which is more than enough to cover us for the week—with even more still waiting in the ground.
Every morning, we serve 68 learners a nutritious breakfast of porridge and sweet potatoes.
Growing our own food has been a massive relief for our feeding program budget and a great lesson for the students.
Community Support
With the rainy season just around the corner, we're excited to announce that today we distributed 2kgs of maize and 2kgs of beans for planting to our elderly ladies. Wishing them a bountiful harvest and hoping this initiative brings them joy and sustainability.
